وقال الصندوق في تقرير إن من المتوقع تباطؤ الاقتصاد السعودي إلى 6% هذا العام من 7.1% في العام الماضي، وأن يبقى التضخم عند 5% لكنه دعا إلى مراقبة التضخم عن كثب.

وذكر أن الفوائض المالية والتجارية ستبلغ 17% و 27% من الناتج المحلي الإجمالي على التوالي.

يشار إلى أن الاقتصاد السعودي حقق في العام الماضي نموا مرتفعا بفضل زيادة في أسعار النفط وفي الإنفاق الحكومي. لكن من المتوقع أن يتأثر نمو اقتصاد المملكة هذه العام بأزمة الديون الأوروبية وتباطؤ النمو الاقتصادي في الصين، أكبر مستورد للنفط السعودي.
